From Tom Petty, to Elvis Presley, to Taylor Swift, Matt uses his unique sensibility and voice to create exciting new versions of well known anthems. One of Matt’s greatest strengths in a live setting is his ability to improvise and come up with impromptu mash-ups and improvisations that always entertain a crowd.

Through many years of gigging all over Southern Ontario and abroad, Matt has amassed a large catalogue of songs that span the last 70 years of popular music. Whether playing some Rod Stewart, Willie Nelson, REM or Coldplay, Matt is able to play renditions that are fresh and original.

The group started out as the house band for the grass roots music festival, Davestock.

In 2007, Matt got his first DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) and began producing electronic music under a number of different aliases. By 2009 Matt produced a remix of the track “Moonlight Desires” by Gowan which caught the attention of Red Light Management. Despite keen interest by Gowan’s management team the project never saw a release date.

 In 2013 Matt relocated to Toronto and continued to produce music under two pen names, “The Church Committee” and “Metro Mammoth”. Although “The Church Committee is now defunct, Matt has continued to produce music and DJ under the banner of Metro Mammoth and has played gigs all over Toronto including official U of T parties, The Central, and Dundas West’s Milk Glass Co.

Today Matt regularly DJ’s and Produces as Metro Mammoth. He is also a member of the cover band  ‘Brother, Sweet Brother’ and continues to gig as a solo acoustic act under his given name.
